This Halloween night, the Roxy Bar & Screen will be showcasing the work of British genre artist and designer, Graham Humphreys. Responsible for some of the most famous horror posters of the 1980s, Humphreys will be in attendance on the night for a chat about his career.
A selection of some of Humphrey’s most famous works will be on display on the evening, and there will be an opportunity to buy signed prints of his original artwork for both the original Nightmare on Elm Street and Evil Dead II : Dead by Dawn, the two films which will screen as a double-bill after the talk.
You don’t need me to tell you what a great opportunity this’ll be to catch Wes Craven’s horror masterpiece on the big screen, my only cinema experiences with Freddy Krueger thus far have involved the recent lacklustre remake and New Nightmare some 17 years ago, so I’m especially looking forward to the chance to revisit a real old school favourite, as well as Sam Raimi’s terrific splatterfest sequel.
The event kicks off at 7pm on Monday 31st October.
